WAIF is the only animal shelter on Whidbey Island that cares for homeless cats and dogs. Approximately 92% of our support comes from individual households and sales proceeds from our thrift store sales. Without this support, WAIF would not exist to provide safe haven, priority medical care, and daily needs while homeless animals dogs and cats wait for their forever homes.WAIF operates with a live-saving philosophy and has consistently achieved the no-kill definition with a save rate 90% and above for more than a decade. Funding shelter operations is a daily expense and donations are urgently needed to give necessary care for vulnerable animals who come to WAIF every day.Since 1990, WAIF has grown to more than just being a shelter.
