Every cat deserves a chance at life, love, and safety. At Rags to Riches Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to saving unwanted and discarded cats and kittens from the rural Ontario countryside. Since our founding by Director and CEO Tammy DaPalma in 2022, we’ve worked tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these vulnerable animals. In 2024 alone, we took in 350 cats, and while 78 found loving forever homes, the heartbreaking loss of 51 lives underscores the urgency of our mission.Cats are not wild animals. Left outdoors, they face unimaginable suffering from harsh elements, predators, vehicles, and disease. We champion indoor-only living, advocating for safety enclosures and catios to protect these cherished companions.Currently, 234 cats—94 adults and 119 kittens—are in our care, including 21 in foster homes. With over 100 awaiting vital spay and neuter surgeries, our resources are stretched thin.
