Since it began in 2003, run at any given time by 4 volunteers, SAFE Hedland has rehomed 4000+ animals and has grown to obtain their first paid position in 2023. SAFE Inc. is the WA arm of Companion Animal Network - Australia CAN (formerly known as Animal Welfare League Australia, AWLA). We work collaboratively with local government, other rescue organisations and vets to check, treat and desex animals in our care.
