Paws Cat Shelter is an all volunteer no kill cat shelter located in Rural Northeast Connecticut. Our shelter is located in pre-dominatley farm country are we are overwhelmed stray and abandoned cats and kittens. Our shelter does not get any state or local assistance, but our shelter runs solely on adoptions, donations and fundraising. We have over 400 cats and kittens in our care between foster homes and our building. Since the world "opened up" our adoptions have gone down by 60% and our intakes have gone up by the same amount. Donations have also dropped by 50% For the first time, we have had to put mother cats and kittens on a waiting list to come in. The number of stray and abandoned cats have dramaticly increased as well. We have colonies of cats in almost every town in our community and there is sickness in many of them.
We are trying to help as many as we can, but we can only do so much. We are at a cross road so to where our future will be. We cannot continue without help, but we also know that the cats and kittens in our community need our help.
We cannot do it alone. We need help, we need you
