Kids with Cancer Foundation is a national charity, based in Sydney, making today easier for kids with cancer and their families. With over 1,240 children diagnosed with cancer each year in Australia, Kids with Cancer Foundation (KWCF) stands as a beacon of hope and support for these young children and their families across the country. We support kids with cancer and their families through our five charitable programs: 1. Providing financial assistance for families – social workers can apply to KWCF to pay bills (phone, utilities, rent, grocery and petrol vouchers, funerals etc.) for eligible families with a child 0-18 years being treated for cancer. 2. Currently funding clinical positions in six paediatric oncology units across Australia – including Social Workers and Clinical Nurse Consultants.3. Funding Wigs 4 Kids™ – KWCF pays for donated hair to be made into bespoke wigs for children which cost $2,750 per wig.4. Funding Care Packs 4 Kids – supplied to children in hospital receiving treatment, filled with healthy snacks, distractions and colouring activities. 5. Funding vital cancer research – including a world-first Relapsed Ependymoma (brain cancer) Trial, testing a cutting-edge new technology. It will mean that there is something to offer kids who would otherwise have no other options. Our vision is a world where a child’s cancer diagnosis becomes an unremarkable event in life. Our mission is to improve the daily lives of Kids with Cancer and their families.
