Wild Hearts Thoroughbred Adoption Society is a registered charity located in Princeton, BC, dedicated the the rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming of retiring thoroughbred racehorses.

Our day to day operations are made possible only with the blood, sweat, tears and passion of a small but mighty group of incredible volunteers but our mission is ultimately only doable with the gracious contributions from generous donors like you. Our primary expenses are hay and feed, and a close second is veterinary costs associated with intake exams and rehabilitation.

Ex-racehorses make for incredible partners in their second careers when handled appropriately with soft hands and patience. They are extremely versatile, athletic, smart and really enjoy that 1:1 connection with their human.

Ex-racehorses are also high on the list for finding themselves in dire situations when NOT handled appropriately, when placed with a wrongly matched partner, and where no support is provided. Once the "bouncing around" begins, their behaviors and/or vices become more prominent which unfortunately increases the chances that they will continue to be sold/bounced around and/or worse, find themselves at auction and all that that entails.

As a registered charity, we do not "sell" horses. Horses remain in our program up until that perfect human match presents itself, whereby he/she is only going to ask what is within the horses best interest and not beyond any limitation they may have. Wild Hearts thoroughly vets adopters, matches each home to horse, and continues to follow up with every horse that has been in our program and therefore on our radar, to ensure the continued quality care.
