Courage Therapeutic Riding Center is a community supported, natural horsemanship-based, rural nonprofit that creates access to Horses in a safe environment for all. Courage has been a space for children in foster care/ DHS custody, victims of abuse, sex trafficking, youth considered to be at risk for social, emotional and behavioral issues, adults in active recovery, veterans, individuals with special needs, physical disabilities, or anyone struggling.
Facilitation includes creating a space where people can form parallels with what happens at the farm to real life situations. Participants have the opportunity to practice and experience first times in communication and boundary setting to name a few of the skills that are see emerge as the relationship between horses and human strengthens.
The experiences are abstract, natural horsemanship based, fun, interactive, and authentic. The horses do not judge the way humans do, and it is felt.
Our goal is to create and maintain access to a therapeutic herd for those in our community who need it most. No matter what that reason is.
