OPAL Centre is a special needs play scheme that delivers a child-centred, personalised provision, always with the child in mind. It works with children and young people aged 6-25 giving them a chance to socialise, explore new opportunities and learn skills through the means of play. OPAL Centre will allow children the freedom and independence to choose their own activities and follow their natural desire to play. Within our groups children will have opportunity to gain a range of experiences that contribute towards their emotional, social, intellectual, language and creative development, these opportunities will include freely chose, unstructured, structured and self directed play. Children and young people will be provided with a range of opportunities including sensory play, communication development, community involvement, life skills (such as cookery, healthy lifestyle), being part of a team and building friendships.
