NTCR is the only no cage, no-kill shelter in the GTA for over 35 years. We have rescued approximately 4,000 cats/kittens from the outside – abandoned, discarded, sick and afraid and given them back a life! They are spayed/neutered/vaccinated and treated for their injuries and then put up for adoption. We have never received any government support to help these suffering souls. NEVER HAVE WE NEEDED YOU MORE! Never have our vet bills been higher! Never have more cats been seriously ill! Never has NTCR needed YOUR help more! Sadly, again we have 3 rescues Libby, Rascal and Rufus that have been diagnosed with F.I.P. (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and we’ve saved the lives of Gandalf, Fiona, Polo, Charlie, Maddie, Felix, Annie, and Alix. The treatment for each case if no other complications is HUGELY expensive $4,000.00 (the basic cost for meds and blood tests along the way) per cat. We had 2 rescues brought to us Bobbi and Thunder who have kidney disease requiring ongoing medication and special food, the costs of which continue to rise! Winston, who has been with us since a kitten due to “special needs” turned 15 this year and recently had emergency dental treatment that cost $3000.
