Mayo SPCA rescues and rehabilitates cats, dogs and other domestic animals where needed throughout the county of Mayo.  Sometimes animals who arrive to our shelter are injured, ill, traumatised and distrusting of humans.  Our team of volunteers works very hard to help these animals recover both physically and mentally and be ready to be adopted into a loving home when the time is right.  We take in cats and kittens and organise Trap Neuter and Return projects in communities to help colonies of feral cats to thrive, reduce the numbers of unwanted kittens and rehabilitate and rehome where we can.  We work with people to match with the right animals, promote good and responsible pet ownership and help reunite missing pets with their families.  The care of animals-feeding, vet bills, equipment, nursing/baby milks etc costs a huge amount and without much fundraising in recent times, we need all the help from the community that we can get to keep doing what we do.
