Since its establishment in 1957, GDV has provided over 50,000 Victorians living with blindness or low vision with high-level support and training to maximise their mobility and independence goals. Our mission is to be the first choice provider of services for Victorians living with low vision or blindness that enables a lifetime of independence.

Our services include: 

 - Guide Dogs: breeding, raising, training and support for Guide Dog users. 

 - Early Childhood Services: support for babies and children living with low vision or blindness and their families 

 - Children's Orientation and Mobility: training in the home and school as well as group programs and camps for children and youth living with blindness or vision loss. 

 - Adult’s Orientation and Mobility: enabling people with blindness and low vision to move safely and independently and to achieve their personal goals. - Acquired Brain Injury Mobility: assessment and training for clients who have vision loss caused by a brain injury. 

 - Occupational Therapy: practical strategies for daily living for people of all ages. - Technology: investing in the latest technology to enable safe and independent travel and everyday living.
