Dementia New Zealand is a national body that supports the work of six regional service delivery Affiliates. These Affiliates provide support and education to thousands of people with dementia and their families. Dementia New Zealand also undertakes advocacy work at a national level, running campaigns and providing media commentary in order to try and destigmatise dementia as a condition. Our hope is to shift the narrative to a place of hope and positivity - and to move the conversation about dementia in a similar way to changing attitudes over the past few years around cancer and mental health.
