Did you know that the suicide rate in Australia is around three times the road toll?
People with mental illness have difficulty coping with day-to-day life. When a crisis arises that threatens their income, home, or freedom it can be more than they can handle, and can exacerbate their problems and throw them into a downward spiral that can even end in suicide. Barrier Breakers steps in as an advocate between the person with mental illness and the authority that is troubling him/her, working to find a good solution and to prevent that downward spiral.
By supporting our work you can help some of the most underprivileged and vulnerable people in our society, and help cut back the toll of needless deaths.
