Did you know that the suicide rate in Australia is around three times the road toll? People with mental illness have difficulty coping with day-to-day life. When a crisis arises that threatens their income, home, or freedom it can be more than they can handle, and can exacerbate their problems and throw them into a downward spiral that can even end in suicide. Barrier Breakers steps in as an advocate between the person with mental illness and the authority that is troubling him/her, working to find a good solution and to prevent that downward spiral.
