Croydon’s young people need somewhere inspirational where they are given the opportunities they so deserve - and where they feel motivated to achieve their potential. Legacy Youth Zone offers just that! Legacy tackles some of the biggest issues facing Croydon by providing a safe, inclusive, exciting place for all young people, regardless of their background, ability or household income. Legacy is a charity and purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities; and supports young people with a choice of at least 20 different activities each session. These include but are not limited to: SPORTS - Four-court sports hall, indoor 3G kick pitch, climbing wall, boxing gym and fitness suite. ARTS AND MEDIA – Arts room, performing arts studio, music room, sound studio and IT equipment. RECREATION AREA – A large central area with pool, table tennis, games consoles, sofas and with visual connectivity to other activities to encourage young members to get involved. KITCHEN – A kitchen offering healthy and inexpensive meals; there will also be a training kitchen for cooking courses and activities. MENTORING – Support for young people on a one to one basis. EMPLOYABILITY & ENTERPRISE – a dedicated Enterprise Zone to help young people develop skills and become work ready.
