Warming up the Homeless supports vulnerable men, women and children that are experiencing homelessness, food poverty and social isolation by providing a range of rapid response services. This includes providing food, clothing, toiletries and other essential items such as female hygiene products, baby items, furniture and household essentials, as well as providing a 24hr homeless helpline, physical and mental health support and signposting, to street homeless and those living in emergency and temporary accommodation in Hastings, St Leonards, Eastbourne and Bexhill. 

In the 12 months to December 2020:

• Our outreach teams have provided care and support for over 31,000 vulnerable men and women

• We have handed out over 5,000 pieces of warm clothing, shoes, bedding and tents.

• We have helped over 850 street homeless into temporary or emergency accommodation

• We have provided essential cooking equipment for more than 1,400 individuals and families.

• Our Food Preparation volunteers have cooked over 30,000 hot and nutritious meals

• We have received over 5,300 calls to our 24hr Helpline

• Our Rapid Response Teams were dispatched over 1,000 times in response to a call to our helpline

• Over 14,000 Breakfast packs were provided to families living in temporary or emergency accommodation

• Our Food Bank has provided over 5,000 Food Parcels to those in need

• We have redistributed 104 tones food donations from local supermarkets and the general public. This is the equivalent of 21 adult male African elephants.

• Ours team of over 200 volunteers have donated more than 120,000 hours to the charity. A value of over £1,046,000 based on the current National Living Wage.
