Agni Animal Welfare Fund
About us
We are a UK based charity working to help the strays living on the streets of Corfu. Through the kind donations of friends and visitors, our objective is to improve the life of, mainly the stray cats, but not exclusively, by reducing the numbers though neutering. We provide neutering for local people and also use the "trap/neuter/return" method for the more feral cats. We treat for ticks, fleas and worms and provide medication to stray animals with illnesses or injuries. If absolutely (and only if absolutely) necessary we aim to see that animals are humanely put to sleep to prevent further suffering if no further help can be given. We set up feeding stations and provide food during the winter months and have a few small recovery centres run by our volunteers. Over the years we have sterilised hundreds of cats and helped many sick and injured animals. We rehome if possible and have helped hundreds get to new homes in the UK. Our work is funded with donations and support from the visitors to the island, besides supporters here in the UK.
