Warwickshire Search and Rescue is a registered charity whose purpose is to support the emergency services in searching for high risk missing people. People are reported missing to the police every day; the police process is to assess the risk to that person of being missing, and if they believe that there is a risk of serious injury or death then they will call us out. All our members are volunteers, but highly trained and qualified according to a curriculum set nationally by Lowland Rescue, our governing body.

We primarily search on foot, but also search from the air with our drone capability, in and on water with boats, kayaks and Swiftwater Rescue Technicians, and have search dogs in training. In a lowland environment, the majority of those we seek are suffering from mental health issues - most commonly dementia or despondency / suicidal intentions. Our role is to plan the detail of the search in the area indicated by the police, deploy resources to find the missing person, give first aid or resuscitation if required in the event of a find, and bring the person back to a safe location.
