Two key reasons we exist: To end Modern Slavery in Australia and to Help Victims Recover. 1. End Slavery in Australia: We want every Australian to be empowered to do something about this crime in our country. We run two cafes, an event venue, slave free retail and wholesale products to help raise awareness and funding to fight this crime. We speak in schools universities and train the business world on the Modern Slavery Act. People need to know this happens in Australia. 2. Help Victims Recover: We run a Survivor School to help victims of recover and rebuild their life. It is unimaginable that anyone can be treated this way in our country, and it is even worse that they receive almost no support once they have been rescued. We are the only long term wrap around care for victims, we are privately funded with no government funding. We provide hope, with recover plans for their future and classes to help them achieve their goals. Transition coaches help navigate their trauma; equine mental health days, yoga and swimming help them with anxiety; life skill classes help them re integrate and work ready classes help them prepare to return to the work force. English classes give them more confidence and ability for interview. We engage employment partners, to help them overcome their fear to leave their refuge and mix in society. We currently support 62 survivors.
