OUR Center: Offering Hope Something as simple as a box of groceries, given on a weekly basis – provided with compassion and respect – can make the difference for a family having to choose between keeping their home, keeping the heat and lights on, or purchasing necessary medicine. So many of our participants never thought they’d need help, and then find themselves struck with an unexpected crisis. OUR Center offers multiple services and resources through a compassionate, coordinated community center. We are committed to providing help, dignity and resources to those in our community who find themselves in need. OUR Center services include: • Rent and Utility Assistance (stable housing) • Wellness and Nutrition Classes • Food Program (meals and groceries) • Culinary Arts Internship Program • Clothing and Personal Care Items • Referrals for substance abuse counseling, • Budget Counseling mental health resources, and job training • Local Transportation • 5-star rated childcare and development • Minor Medical Needs services (ages 6 weeks to 6 years) at our • Financial Skills and Getting Ahead Classes Aspen Center for Child Development Since 1986, OUR Center has been that source of hope for thousands of families living in the St. Vrain Valley and working toward self-reliance. Then came COVID-19… When a worldwide pandemic was declared in March 2020, OUR Center responded without missing a beat. While this is our first pandemic disaster, we are not unfamiliar with how our participants are impacted by unexpected circumstances and the importance of our ability to provided much needed supports in a challenging environment. As most of our community shutdown in response to the pandemic, the OUR Center quickly adapted our service delivery to ensure we could respond to the rapidly changing and growing needs of the community. Since mid-March 2020, OUR Center has: • Served over 62,000 meals • Distributed over 21,000 food boxes, totaling over 1.3 million pounds of groceries • Provided over 2,050 vouchers totaling over $1.3 million in financial assistance for rent and utilities (our Homelessness Prevention Program).
