What has 80 paws, 20 tails, and can travel from Alabama to Vermont in a single journey? Why, the No Greater Love rescue van full of hopeful canines being given a second chance to live a great life, of course!
No Greater Love rescues unwanted and abandoned dogs scheduled to be euthanized at high kill shelters in and around Alabama. We also take in neglected strays mostly found wandering alone on roadsides. Typically, we will have between 75-100 dogs at our residential kennel at any one time, making us one of the biggest dog rescues in Alabama. They are members of our family until they are adopted. We are one of the biggest long-haul rescues in the United States. We make 35 trips per year from Alabama to Vermont where we unite 20 dogs per trip with loving homes in Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and New York.
In a calendar year, we clock over 100,000 miles and place over 700 dogs - all with a total of only 5 volunteers!
Since 2013, No Greater Love has rescued and placed over 4000 dogs in forever homes. We continue our work because these animals are in peril, and we are their lifeline.
