About us
Our interdisciplinary team of scientists and education specialists addresses critical environmental health disparities in California's San Joaquin Valley, where rural disadvantaged communities face disproportionate exposure to air pollution, water contamination, and climate change impacts.
We implement a transformative capacity-building approach that empowers residents as partners in scientific inquiry rather than passive information recipients. Through rigorous training in scientific methodology, climate science, water quality assessment, and air pollution monitoring, we equip community members with tools to document environmental hazards, interpret data, and advocate effectively for policy solutions.
Our programming bridges generations, enabling youth leadership while ensuring adults can make informed decisions to protect their families. We collaborate with residents to co-design community-driven research projects that generate actionable data for local advocacy efforts.
By building local expertise in environmental monitoring and policy engagement, we create lasting institutional change that transforms communities from vulnerable populations into scientifically empowered advocates for their health and environment.
