To provide food, shelter, and medical services to the lost and abandoned animals in Nanton and the surrounding area.
To place lost and abandoned animals in lifetime homes.
To help reduce the population of unwanted and unsterilized animals in our town.
To inform the general public of the responsibilities of pet ownership through public awareness and educational programs

In 2002, Nanton resident Edna Yonda willed the Town of Nanton funds to address the stray & feral cat problem in the area.  A group of concerned citizens, including local veterinarians came together to assist with implementing a plan of action for the funds.

This group became incorporated in July of 2003 as the Nanton & District Animal Protection Society, and have continued to provide services to both the residents and the needy animals in our community and surrounding areas.

The society funds its efforts through government Casino's every three years and by accepting donations from our generous supporters. Our facility is operated by a group of 20+ dedicated youth and adult volunteers who share all the responsibilities of day to day operations. NAPs has 

The societies primary goal is to reduce the stray, feral and homeless animal population in Nanton with our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) Program.  We allocate a large portion of funds annually to trap, sterilize and re-release feral felines.
