Friends of the Brush-Tailed Rock-Wallaby work in partnership with the National Parks and Wildlife Service to protect and conserve the endangered brush-tailed rock-wallaby in the Kangaroo Valley and surrounding areas. The mission of the Friends is to support the recovery of this endangered species by developing community support through school education and public awareness campaigns , while actively collaborating with other groups working towards the recovery of the brush-tailed rock-wallaby and fostering a biodiverse Australia.
To do this the Friends work with the Saving Our Species program to offer support in monitoring the BTRW colonies in Kangaroo Valley through a network of remote cameras and maintaining an active predator control program within the community and surrounding areas. Without the support of members of the community, around Australia and Internationally, the Friends would not be able to continue their contributions to this valuable work.
