Angel Lodge Equine Guardians provide safety, rest and rehabilitation to horses and other farm animals on occasion in need. We help horses from diverse situations including surrenders from owners who are unwilling or unable to continue to care for their horses, deceased estates and auctions where horses are at risk of being purchased by knackeries and dealers. All animals entering Angel Lodge are immediately assessed and all their needs are catered for. Based on the Mornington Peninsula on 25acres, we have horses, goats and sheep currently in care. Once ready, Our horses are adopted out to carefully selected homes with contracts in place ensuring they will always return to our care if circumstances change for their new families. Securing safe futures for our horses is our priority. In the last year we have taken in 11new horses, have found suitable forever homes for 6 horses and currently have 14 in care We also have horses in care that can not be rehomed for various reasons including age and injuries. Whilst Angel Lodge does not rely solely on donations to provide feed and care, donations are always received with gratitude. Donations are utilised for feed, veterinary costs and ongoing care of horses. Donations also allow Angel Lodge to continue to rescue horses as this often involves transport costs and veterinary assessments and treatments.
