We're calling on our community to help provide ongoing support and raise funding for Byron's homeless hub, Fletcher Street Cottage - to continue providing essential support services to locals without a place to call home. Help us to give hope to Byron locals who need it the most.

Byron Shire has the largest cohort of rough sleepers in NSW.

Recent statistics on homelessness in NSW shows Byron Shire has the largest cohort of locals sleeping rough in the state, higher than the City of Sydney. There were 300 rough sleepers counted across the Byron Shire in February 2023. This needs to change!

Our Fletcher Street Cottage team are working hard to respond to this crisis and meet the needs of locals who are doing it tough, through essential services and practical support - but without any ongoing government funding, we need your help!

Fletcher Street Cottage is a warm and inclusive space to gain practical relief, connections & access support.

Your donations help us to provide critical services and support for people experiencing homelessness in the Byron Shire:

• Practical supports such as: Meals, showers, laundry and office support.
• Complex higher level support to help break the cycle of homelessness such as: Emergency relief, material aid, DV support, medical care, specialist housing assistance, dental care, mental health support, legal aid, and much more.

Fletcher Street Cottage’s services are made possible through the efforts of 12 staff and 60 volunteers, in collaboration with 15 visiting specialist services, and managed through the Byron Community Centre.
