Impound Feline Rescue is dedicated to reducing the numbers of unsterilised, unwanted, stray cats and finding them loving homes. Our rescue is 100% volunteer-based, relying heavily on in-kind support and a local Vet Hospital who provides discounted vet costs. All cats we take in are sterilised, microchipped, vaccinated, and given all other vet care they need. They are placed in foster homes while they wait for their forever homes. Some of our cats require physical or social rehabilitation before they are suitable for rehoming. Others end up staying put, being adopted by their foster families.

By enabling the removal of stray cats from the streets, we reduce the breeding of unwanted kittens and give animals a second chance at life. We love being able to introduce loving, healthy companion pets to wonderful adopters, and one of the most rewarding things for us is being able to match certain cat personality types with certain compatible human personality types.

We strive to educate new cat owners about the many benefits of having indoor cats, or cats that are confined to a secure enclosure. We seek homes where cats will be kept confined to the adopter's property, avoiding an increase to the number of lost or roaming cats on our streets. The less roaming cats can impact the natural environment, the better. Plus, indoor cats are safer and live longer!

Our rescue assists local Pounds and Vet Clinics, eases pressure on other rescues, helps struggling families who cannot keep their pets due to growing financial pressure (when we are able), and helps protect the natural environment from roaming cats.
