Since 2008, Desert Paws Rescue has rehomed over 6,000 rescued dogs and cats. We primarily work with community residents who are seeking to rehome their personal animals, or have discovered stray animals within their neighborhood, while also assisting local rescues and shelters with transfers when they are at capacity or have animals with uncommon health requirements. These efforts help to relieve the overwhelming homeless pet population that end up in shelter facilities only to be exposed to the viral and bacterial illness common in high-capacity kennels or worse, euthanization. All of our animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption, are administered the necessary vaccinations and testing, and also receive a microchip which is automatically registered upon adoption. If an adopter finds that they are no longer able to care for the animal that they adopted from our organization, we ask that they contact us first to ensure that we are able to provide assistance with rehoming, or accept the surrender of the animal back into Desert Paws Rescue without charge.
