Animals 4 Healing is a 501(c)3, a community mental health organization. Our mission is to help children, adolescents, adults, veterans, and their families who have experienced trauma. Some of those trauma's that we help with are, physical abuse, sexual violence, natural disaster, combat, military sexual trauma, domestic violence, sexual violence, neglect, extreme poverty, loss of a parent or primary caregiver, childhood abuse, human trafficking, car accident, bullying or anything that has caused a person to have posttraumatic stress disorder. We work one on one with clients to provide balance through connecting their body, mind, heart, and spirit. We follow a person-centered approach and draft each client's treatment plan to reflect their individual needs. We also follow a family systems approach where the entire family is incorporated into the healing model and treatment plan. Patients will be given the opportunity to experience empowerment through expression of feelings and learning how to change negative beliefs. We help clients learn how to become successful within their families, community, and their own lives through the benefits of equine assisted psychotherapy and canine assisted psychotherapy while utilizing facility dogs. We also utilize other experiential therapies such as nature, movement, and music therapy to help clients connect to treatment goals. With these grants funds we can provide the therapeutic supplies that are needed for therapy, like yoga mats, Musical instruments, riding helmets, plants, and other supplies needed for classes. We offer Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Consultation, Suicide Prevention & Intervention Group Therapy, Therapeutic horseback, Equine Assisted and Canine Assisted Psychotherapy. We currently provide scholarships to low-income clients who qualify. This is particularly important for our clients so we can provide the best help possible. Our program stresses the heart-body-mind-spirit connection, by utilizing evidence-based and experiential therapies with the assistance of animals, nature, music, and movement. It is geared toward facilitating an exploration of feelings and trauma triggers received during life experiences within a safe and nurturing environment.
