Women with a lived experience of cancer are uniquely placed to help other women with a cancer diagnosis to live well. Counterpart is based on this simple but powerful idea.
Counterpart connects, supports, and informs women with breast or a gynaecological cancer to live well. Trained Peer Support Volunteers with an experience of cancer give understanding and a listening ear, as well as emotional and practical support. Women with cancer can talk to a volunteer or staff member over the phone or by visiting our Resource Centre in Melbourne's CBD.
Our peer support is supplemented by a range of information resources and wellbeing sessions with qualified health professionals that complement the medical system and other cancer support services.
Counterpart is a service of Women's Health Victoria and is supported by the Victorian Government.
