About us
Bnei Akiva Perth, is a religious, Zionist Youth Movement which is run by university students aged 18-25.
It is non-for-profit and completed funded by fundraisers organised by our very own youth leaders.
We run weekly fun and informal educational activities for school students in years 2-12, as well as bi-annual camps which happen over 6 days, where kids hike, swim, learn, sing, dance, mingle and have fun on a sleep away campsite.
We also organise religious holiday events for Passover, Purim, Hannukah and all other important Jewish or Israeli events- both for the kids and the community at large.
Unfortunately, the community is shrinking, costs have increased with covid and our beloved Jewish community centre is under re-construction, so Bnei Akiva has been left under financial strain. We need the support of others to help keep the Jewish community of Perth alive!! We are the core of the Jewish youth of Perth and help our youth to stay connected to our roots and religion.
We also send high school graduates on year-long trips to Israel to learn more about themselves, the Jewish religion and Israeli society; Ensuring all kids who'd like the opportunity to go are able to be subsidised if needed, is a real struggle for the movement.
The movement just had its 40 year anniversary in Perth this year and hopefully with the support of the wider Perth and Australian community we can continue onto 50!
