A Better Life for Foster Kids is a volunteer-run charity that supplies essential items needed by children in foster or kinship care when they are entering a new placement. We also give on-going support to children and their carers. We provide: • Crisis Cases- wheeled suitcases full of clothing and other essential items that children receive when moving into out-of-home-care • furniture and equipment that carers need to take on a placement • on-going support for children through our discretionary ‘Others Do Care’ fund • housing transition packages – furnishing and stocking a house for young adults leaving care nand victims of family violence Our mission is to give children in care dignity, comfort and improved long-term outcomes. Most of our programs operate within the Gippsland region; however, we are increasingly supplying Crisis Cases across Victoria.
