Program Info & Philosophy The Ankeny Basketball Club was established in 2019. The Ankeny Basketball Club program is for any Ankeny resident and/or student enrolled in the Ankeny Community School District, boy or girl, entering grades 1-8 . The club's goal is to introduce participants to the Ankeny basketball philosophy and expose players to the fundamentals of the game while teaching sportsmanship, dedication, work ethic, and friendship. The ABC is proud to have a high level of support from the Hawk and Hawkette coaches Brandt Carlson, Nate Tobey, and their staffs. Both coaching staff’s work very closely with the ABC board and its coaches to ensure that our participants are exposed to basketball fundamentals. The Ankeny Basketball Club program is for any 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade boy or girl regardless of where they live or attend school.. The ABC program will follow the Ankeny High School basketball philosophy and will impart that knowledge to all players. The ABC program believes that all players, no matter what their talent level is, should demonstrate good character, morals, family values, solid academics and sportsmanship.

The program will have a focus on FUNDAMENTAL skill development. All ABC players will learn man-to-man defense, offensive concepts, extensive skill training and learn the terminology of the Ankeny High School Basketball programs. ABC … where fundamentals come first!
