About us
The mission of the Western New York Railway Historical Society is to preserve, protect and preserve nearly 200 years of our valuable railway heritage which help grow the Western New York region into the second largest rail hub on the North American continent. The Society has saved and restored two historic railway depots in Williamsville & Orchard Park, NY as well as having established a 16-acre site in the City of Buffalo which we are working to raise money to complete the construction of rail sidings to display over 25 pieces of historic railroad equipment including the last Pennsylvania RR I-1 steam locomotive remaining of over 500 built for the railroad. The Society has also preserved two historic passenger cars from the famous 20th Century Limited as well as several cabooses, freight and other passenger cars.
