Home On The Range is a working and therapeutic 1600-acre ranch located in North Dakota. It is a licensed and accreditated agency licensed to serve boys and girls, ages 12-17, who have experienced trauma or witnessed traumatic events, and unfortunately have learned social skills just to survive. While at Home On The Range, the children are taught how to form trusting relationships again through animal assisted interventions such as equine and canine assisted therapies. Other program components include work and recreation opportunities on the ranch, spiritual advisement and support, other therapeutic modalities which are evidence-based and best practices certified, and finally, education. The children attend school at the non-public school called Badlands Learning Center. The children take on-line classes through the Center for Distant Education and take them at their own pace. In 2025, every child that was enrolled at Badlands Learning Center passed one class, receiving 1/2 academic credit. The school is open year-round.

Our goal is to teach the children new life skills, such as problem solving, communication, relationship building, and many other vital skills needed to be successful. The final goal is for the child to reunite with their family or return to their community.
