Founded in 2000, The American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (AFLFC) has been working tirelessly for 25 years to build educational and cultural bridges between the U.S., Cuba, and Latin America through varied programs and initiatives in the visual and performing arts. These include artist residencies, fellowships/internships for arts professionals, educational travel experiences for groups and individuals, and cultural events, such as the Havana Film Festival New York (HFFNY), which will be celebrating its landmark 25th edition in April 2025. HFFNY has made a name for itself both in its home of New York City and around the world as a simultaneously prestigious and accessible film festival: offering audiences a chance to see a line-up of Latin American films that range from world premieres and critically acclaimed new releases to beloved classics and rare works from the archives, while engaging with the region’s top filmmakers- from emerging talents to cinematic legends- for prices well below the movie theater industry standard.
