Matt Talbot provides beyond basic needs to embolden people to have hope. Everyone is welcome to walk through our open doors and get a hot meal two times a day. Matt Talbot provides more than 100,000 meals to Lincoln's working poor and homeless. Food pantries are also available for those who do not have enough food at home. Nevertheless, Matt Talbot is about much more than food. We are a dedicated and united front of staff and volunteers who help the homeless and near homeless find possibilities when things seem impossible.Matt Talbot has a bold vision to defeat hunger and homelessness. Our housing program uses evidence-based best practices for securing safe and stable housing for the homeless. These efforts move our community closer to our collective and compassionate goal of ending chronic homelessness.Through the C.A.R.E Program (Counseling, Advocacy, Referral, Evaluation/Education), Matt Talbot provides Alcohol & Drug Education Classes, Substance Use Evaluations & Counseling, Pre-Treatment Groups and Weekly AA meetings to help those who struggle with substance use and addiction.Matt Talbot works to connect people to resources that take care of the whole person. Our extensive outreach and advocacy programs assist individuals with basic, emergency, and health needs.
