About us
Thrive Collective creates hope and opportunity through arts and mentoring in public schools. Help us eradicate artless education as we help "Bring Art Back" to every student and public school in New York City (and beyond).
Bring Art Back is about justice. We can't imagine a world without visual or performing arts, music or film, or any expression at all. And neither can you. Yet we sentence a quarter of a million mostly low-income New Yorkers to an artless education everyday. Together, we can eradicate this injustice by connecting artists, volunteers, and youth workers with local schools as teaching artists, art directors, and mentors. Project based learning integrates life and art skills, as students cultivate a shared vision and bring that vision to life.
Since 2014, we have helped strengthen music and arts programs at 250 schools and served more than 35,000 students in NYC, while expanding to California, Texas, Maryland, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico. Together with 200 artists and 3,500 volunteers from 120 partner organizations and businesses, we have completed 700 murals totaling more than 200,000 square feet of public art; produced over 400 festivals, assemblies, and events; more than sixty original songs and music videos; 100 student films; and much more. Additionally, we operate Studio Arts programs in Central Harlem and facilitate visual and performing arts programs for other agencies.
