World Villages for Children helps the world's poorest children break free from a life of poverty by supporting the work of the Sisters of Mary. 383 Sisters provide our students with a fully accredited education program and vocational training, a safe place to live, good nutrition, and healthcare in our Villages for Children in 14 locations in seven countries. Founded in 1961 our program ends poverty through education. We have over 150,000 graduates. Our graduates provide support to their families and invest in their hometowns. When we educate one child, we help whole families, and our impact reaches far beyond the 20,000 students currently enrolled. Our work lifts entire communities out of poverty. The Sisters help our graduating students with job placement through established and ongoing relationships with local companies. Business leaders are eager to hire and actively recruit our students. The Sisters care for the local population by establishing free medical and dental centers, daycare facilities, homes for mothers and children, and vocational training centers. Our programs focus on the objectives of ending child poverty, improving health, educational attainment and progress into employment and our work facilitates grassroots change in poverty levels within the local communities.
