Wide Bay Ostomates Association
Our team of volunteers operate from our warehouse in Bundaberg and provide services throughout the Wide Bay Area to over 800 members living with stomas. (Surgical opening in abdominal wall to allow passing of bodily waste into a bag). As well as the provision of medical appliances and pharmaceuticals we provide educational sessions and support group meetings to alleviate embarrassment and any stigma associated with the condition. We rely on donations when booking venues and to pay for any cost associated with travelling to conduct 'Open Days'. Current costs for venue hire and transport are approximately $1200 dollars per session. We are looking for donations that will allow us to provide five 'Open Days' in the next 12 months.
