US Horse Welfare and Rescue is a step above most rescues and sanctuaries in that we were founded on the belief that America needs solution-based programs to end the slaughter. We rescue horses while advocating, educating, and providing solution-based programs to owners to SAVE America's Horses from abuse, neglect, and slaughter. By proactively reaching out to the horse community and the general public we create necessary awareness, feed horses in need, rehome horses within our community, take in owner surrenders, assist with necessary euthanasia expenses when owners can not afford it and are left with the daunting decision of potentially sending their horses to slaughter because of lack of funds. We recognize that it is a slippery slope to the slaughter lot for many horses who are not exceptionally well trained once they leave the loving owner. Getting ahead of the curve, getting to the horse BEFORE they end up in auction and slaughter lots is a major goal of ours.
