We are the Thumb Spay Neuter Alliance, a rural, volunteer led, non-profit organization offering funding and supportive services for TNR for free roaming community cats (feral, barn, stray, unhoused cats) in Sanilac County in order to reduce overpopulation, euthanasia, homelessness and the need for animal shelter intake.

 We have NO other spay and neuter assistance programs in Sanilac County and access to affordable veterinary care is limited. We drive over an hour to access established high volume, low cost spay and neuter clinics. These are Humane Society of St Clair County SNAP and All About Animals in Flint and Warren. These partners ensure cats receive high-quality care despite the lack of local veterinary infrastructure.

In May 2026 alone we sterilized 28 community cats. At our current pace we are on track to serve approximately 250-300 cats annually preventing thousands of unintended births and reducing nuisance behaviors, disease risk and the need for animal shelter intake.

Our work primarily serves low income and rural residents, the elderly, and farmers who otherwise have no access to affordable spay and neuter services. By stabilizing cat populations the Thumb Spay Neuter Alliance is impacting public health, supporting responsible stewardship and filling a critical service gap in Sanilac County.

Our group became a 501c3 organization April 1st, 2026. We are seeking partners to help expand the work. A small grant or sponsorship directly supports spay and neuter surgeries for our area. Thank you for considering our work.
