In an era dominated by algorithmic streams and isolated headphone listening, Center For Recorded Music (C4RM) is rebuilding the communal heart of music culture in Kansas City. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to music preservation, social learning, and celebrating the artistic, technical, and historical impact of recorded sound.

At the center of our work is The Listyning Room—a living archive and community venue equipped with world-class, audiophile-grade hi-fi sound systems. Here, we bring people together off their screens to experience full-length vinyl records, attend educational workshops, and participate in curated presentations.

We are actively expanding our flagship programming to bring celebrated national and international artists, producers, and music professionals directly to Kansas City. These visits offer our community rare, intimate opportunities to hear world-class music creators share their personal stories, creative processes, and deep love of music on an incredible sound system.
