Our History: From Rome to San Juan:

The Global Founder: Our story begins with St. Joseph Calasanz, a Spanish priest who, in 1597, opened the first free public school in Europe in a poor neighborhood in Rome. He believed that education was the most powerful tool to change the world, a mission he called "Piety and Letters" (faith and culture).

The Order: To ensure this mission continued, he founded the **Order of the Pious Schools (Piarist Fathers), the first religious order in history dedicated exclusively to the education of youth.

Arrival in Puerto Rico: Colegio Calasanz was founded in 1968 in the Montecarlo area of San Juan. At a time when the neighborhood faced significant social challenges and gang friction, the Piarist Fathers established the school as a "symbolic peace zone."

A Pillar of the Community: For over 50 years, the school has been a beacon of stability, providing academic excellence and emotional security to families. Many of our neighbors grew up in the shadow of the school and recognize that it "gave them wings" to find better paths in life.

We are a Piarist run Co-educational College Preparatory school that operates under the guiding principle that the school and the family must work in absolute harmony.

* Academic Innovation: A complete Science Lab Renovation to turn our campus into a  leader, preparing students for careers in technology and discovery.

* Spiritual Sanctuary: The creation of the Calasanz Grotto and Meditation Gardens, providing a physical space for peace and reflection in the middle of a busy campus.

* Holistic Wellness: Recognizing the "broken family reality" many face today, our vision includes expanded pastoral accompaniment and psychological support for both students and parents.

* Campus Renewal: Modernizing our physical infrastructure—from Chapel Restoration to our "Cool Down" AC project—to ensure our facilities reflect the high standards of our mission.
