The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is a not-for-profit charity that delivers immersive, national STEM programs for young Australians at a critical decision point in school. Our flagship 9-day residential NYSF Year 12 Program brings together students from across the country, particularly from underrepresented, regional and financially constrained backgrounds, to explore real-world STEM pathways by direct engaging with industry, research and academia. By prioritising interest and potential over academic achievement, and by reducing geographic, financial and social barriers, NYSF expands access to opportunities, networks and career pathways that are often out of reach, leading to greater inclusion across Australia’s future STEM workforce. 

Many STEM programs focus on academic excellence and/or STEM achievement, uniquely the NYSF Year 12 Program focuses on interest in STEM and how much students will gain from the opportunity to explore national STEM pathways.  

The NYSF Year 12 Program has improved diversity and inclusion in STEM by prioritising students from schools and communities typically underrepresented in STEM, maximising financial support for students, and expanding awareness and aspiration for diverse STEM future pathways.  

We are committed to ensuring that as many talented young Australians as possible can participate in STEM.
