About us

The GO Foundation was founded by Sydney Swans Legends, Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin to empower young Indigenous Australians through education. As proud Aboriginal men, their names are synonymous with integrity, equality and opportunity. The GO Foundation’s scholarship program provides access, opportunity and wrap around support for Indigenous students to ensure their journey through school is as rich and rewarding as possible.

GO’s education scholarships are offered to First Nations children and young people from yr 1 through to university. GO’s aim is to ensure each young people’s education journey is rewarding and that students feel supported at school and in their post school futures.

One way First Nations children and young people can thrive is to experience belonging and to feel connected to their culture. Research shows that when this happens young people are more likely to stay in education, to aspire to university and to have increased self-esteem.

We know that in some cases students can’t commit to university or finish their degree without financial help. This GO university scholarship also gives access to career opportunities from GO’s Partners and membership of the GO Alumni Program.
