Our Kitties Need Your Help! Our Sanctuary is a small no-kill, feline exclusive 501(c)(3), actively helping cats and kittens in Ashland County Ohio. We rescue abandoned, helpless, dumped and discarded kitties. We have blind, deaf, 3 legged, neurological cats, in addition to simple kitties needing a second chance. We rely solely on the generosity of the community for our survival. All cats entering our sanctuary are tested for feline leukemia/FIV, spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated for rabies, distemper, feline leukemia, wormed, fecal tested, and treated for all illnesses and injuries. Once healthy, we place our kitties in new loving, forever homes. Our sanctuary has a very detailed adoption program and application process. All cats in our sanctuary live their lives here, until adopted, and are our family. Our sanctuary has 5 areas of housing. All areas are open home environments. We only have cages for our infirmary cats needing medical care. This allows us to get to know the individual personalities of each cat in our care. WHO they get along with, if they don’t get along at all, are easily intimidated or dominate, have bad habits, etc., which helps us place them in proper homes. We have been in existence since 2003, and have a capacity for 100. We have foster homes, on site and overflow space with our local veterinarian of record. Any of our adopted cats can be returned to us for any reason, at any time. Sometimes life changes for the adoption family, and we always provide a place for our cats, even if they are in end of life situations. Our sanctuary is ALWAYS FULL. We have 37 dedicated volunteers, 6 needed every day for cleaning, feeding, socializing, etc., our Executive Director/Founder is also a volunteer position, and we have 2 paid staff members. Everyone here has a Passion for our cats. We all love what we do, and benefit daily from the love we receive from our cats. Cat therapy is the best form of therapy.
