Texas CARES Cat Adoption And Rescue
About us
Texas CARES was Incorporated on June 22, 1993. Texas CARES was founded when the McKinney SPCA and Dallas SPCA merged to become the SPCA of Texas. Texas CARES was the first "cat only" adoption group in DFW for several years. Texas CARES is a registered 501c3 nonprofit and is an all-volunteer foster-based cat rescue.
Over the past 30 years, Texas CARES has rescued and found homes for approximately 250 cats and kittens a year. Texas CARES rescues cats from shelters, and those in need of surrendering their cats, across all areas of DFW. Texas CARES has also assisted with cats coming from environmental disasters like Hurricane Katrina, as well as hoarding cases.
