About us

Standing Shoulder to Shoulder Inc. Supporting women and children who have experienced Domestic Violence. Support may include material items, financial assistance, emotional support and advocacy. The primary target group is women and children who are living in women’s refuges who have no permanent residency status in Australia and have no or limited access to Centrelink or Medicare. Women with no income who have experienced Family Violence are usually women, who have come to Australia to marry an Australian citizen or whose partners have a Sub-class 457 Visa, international students, tourists and those on bridging visas. Women from New Zealand who are not employed can also be classified as women with no income. Other groups we support include women leaving forced marriages, Lesbian and Trans women experiencing Domestic and Family Violence. SSTS will also provide furniture and household items to any woman with or without children setting up a home again after Domestic Violence.
