Somerset Pet Welfare Alliance (SPWA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Somerset County, Maine, founded in 2025 by Kelly Normandin. Our mission is to help local pet owners afford essential spay and neuter services for their animals, reducing pet overpopulation and improving animal welfare across our community.

SPWA works to make responsible pet ownership more accessible for everyone — not just low-income individuals — by covering or assisting with the costs of spay/neuter procedures for cats and dogs.

To fund our efforts, SPWA relies on donations, fundraisers, and the sale of gently used household items, collectibles, and decor through local porch pickups and meetups. Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping animals in need in Somerset County.
